About the True Hero Foundation

THE PROBLEM

Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis desperately needed support. They needed appropriate protective gear (PPE) and other critical resources at the time.

They also needed help with COVID-driven expenses (like increased childcare and meal delivery expenses when they worked 12 to 14-hour days, six days a week), and their families required financial support if these brave medical heroes passed away due to COVID themselves.

OUR SOLUTION

The True Hero Fund provided crucial assistance DIRECTLY to doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other frontline medical professionals so they received the PPE and other key resources they needed. The fund also provided grants directly to medical professionals who delivered extraordinary levels of care to their patients.

We created a direct pipeline so funds went directly to the True Heroes who put their lives on the line for us, each and every day, during this global war.

We assembled a team of dedicated professionals across the country to identify those medical heroes who went above and beyond the call of duty and made enormous sacrifices for all of us.
We worked very quickly to direct critical financial resources to doctors, nurses, and other frontline professionals in an efficient and effective manner. Thank you for helping us support these incredibly brave and dedicated medical heroes.

HOW YOU HELPED

Venture capitalist Todd Chaffee and his wife Kat created the True Hero Foundation and donated $1.0 Million to the True Hero Fund. They also pledged to match an additional $1.0 Million through their charitable foundation, the NobleLight Foundation, based on contributions made by GoFundMe donors. With this matching program, we doubled the positive impact.
